The entire city of Cleveland was on the edge of their seats, waiting to see if their golden boy, Stipe Miocic, could hang on to his UFC heavyweight title.

And he did.

Miocic faced Alistair Overeem in a one round war that saw a failed guillotine attempt by the challenger (who claims he felt a tap), but it was the flurry of punches that finally did him in with just over 30 seconds left in round one.

Miocic successfully defended his heavyweight title.
