It was announced early this morning that CB Dollaway has withdrawn from his bout at UFC 203 due to an elevator accident that happened late last night.

Dollaway, along with eight other people (including Fabricio Werdum and Urijah Faber), were riding in an elevator in a Cleveland Hotel following the official weigh-ins when the cord on the elevator snapped, and dropped them into the hotel basement. According to Faber, who documented it all, they luckily only dropped one story.

That appears to have been enough to at least injure one fighter.

According Ariel Helwani, Dollaway suffered a back strain that grew progressively worse since the incident.

The UFC released this statement regarding the incident:

UFC announced that CB Dollaway has had to withdraw from his scheduled bout at UFC 203 due to an injury he suffered last night as a result of an elevator accident at a hotel in Cleveland. UFC officials have been in communication with hotel management, and the hotel is currently evaluating and investigating the issues surrounding the incident.

The card will now proceed with 10 fights with an updated start time of 7:30 pm ET.

Dollaway was originally slated to open the FS1 prelims, where he was to face Francimar Barroso.
