Beyonce and Jay Z, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and Gisele and Tom Brady... these are all celebrity power couples.
I define "power couple" as a pair who work together to create success for one or both members of the duo (at least for the purposes of this list).
Here are a few of the couples that I have seen taking over the MMA scene lately, in no particular order.
Miesha Tate and Bryan Caraway
Former bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate may be the front runner in this relationship, but boyfriend, Bryan Caraway is just as well known. The professional UFC fighter duo are often seen in each other's corner coaching from the cage, and from the looks of this flashback photo, have been dating for ages.
Sam Alvey and McKey Sullivan
Sam Alvey is a jokester, but when he talks about his wife McKey Sullivan he is all business. McKey is best known as the winner of the hit TV show America's Next Top Model (season 11) but she has traded in her stilettos and learned everything there is to know about the sport in order to be in her husband's corner. In fact, after Alvey won his last fight, he admitted she probably knows more.
Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin
Conor is arguably one of the most powerful men in MMA right now, and he credits his success to his long time girlfriend Dee. He says she has been with him when he had nothing, and now intends to show her what it's like to have everything. Where Conor is, Dee is never far behind.
Megan Olivi and Joseph Benavidez
This pair is probably the top choice in my book. Megan is a reporter and host for the UFC, Benavidez is a top contender in his division and a coach on the current season on The Ultimate Fighter. The couple were married in 2015 and are the PERFECT example of a power couple.
Tito Ortiz and Amber Nichole Miller
Tito is one of the godfathers of MMA, and his beautiful girlfriend and former Octagon ring girl, Amber Nichole Miller is more than just eye candy. She appears to have taken to the role of future stepmother to Tito's twin boys with great enthusiasm, often seen at events watching over them as Tito works.
Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne
This is one of the more "controversial" couples on the list, mostly because the nature of how they began the coupling has been questioned by Browne's estranged wife. Moving on... Ronda and Travis were rumored to have started dating shortly before her loss to Holly Holm, but trained together much longer. The pair have been friends for some time, and although they're not often photographed together, they are rumored to be going strong!
Amanda Nunes and Nina Ansaroff
When Nunes became UFC bantamweight champion, one of the first posts she made on social media was a photo of her girlfriend, Nina Ansaroff, kissing her cheek. Amanda is the first openly gay UFC champion in the history of the sport. Nina is also a UFC fighter in the strawweight division. Perhaps we'll see two champions dating someday!
Cris "Cyborg" Justino and Ray Elbe
Cris Cyborg is one of the most powerful women in MMA, but even the most powerful women have someone they lean on, and for Cris, that's Ray Elbe. He's an athlete himself: a black belt in jiu-jitsu, a four-time MMA champion and a former TUF competitor. The pair are often seen side-by-side, and Cyborg is often thanking Ray publicly for his love and support.
Honorable Mention: Luke Rockhold and Demi Lovato
There's no photo for these two, because their relationship is only rumored at this point, but I imagine if these two ever went public, they could be the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West of the UFC... meaning we'd want to know every juicy detail. Oh? That's just me? Okay then, carry on.
