Dana White announced last week that he would soon begin building the card for UFC 205, and a huge UFC star has seemed to confirm that.

Yoel Romero took to Instagram to confirm that he will be fighting former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman at UFC 205. Weidman, a New York native, is a clear choice for the UFC's first event in New York at Madison Square Garden.

Update: Romero has since deleted the Instagram post, but you can see a screenshot of it below. Original story follows.

Romero will be making his first Octagon appearance since being suspended by USADA earlier this year. Prior to the suspension, Romero was undefeated in the UFC and was on a seven-fight win streak. He was ranked in the top five of the middleweight division and had beaten some of the best fighters in the division including Lyoto Machida and Jacare Souza. He is currently the #4-ranked middleweight.

Weidman has not fought since losing his belt to Luke Rockhold last year at UFC 194. He was scheduled to rematch Rockhold at UFC 199, but had to pull out with a neck injury. Before his loss to Rockhold, Weidman was undefeated in his pro MMA career and was 9-0 in the UFC. Two of those wins were against Anderson Silva, widely regarded as the greatest UFC fighter of all time. He is currently the #2-ranked middleweight in the UFC.

The winner will definitely put themselves in contention for the next title shot in the middleweight division. Current champ Michael Bisping will fight #12 Dan Henderson at UFC 204. Whoever wins this fight will likely have to contend with Rockhold and Souza for the next title fight.

Obviously, Weidman and Romero will not be alone on the UFC 205 card. Reports are already coming out that fights between Robbie Lawler and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, as well as Thiago Alves and Al Iaquinta, will take place at that event.

With White clearly wanting to stack the card for the UFC's first trip to MSG, it will be tough to pick who the headlining fight will be. However, if it is confirmed that the rumored Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez match-up will take place at UFC 205, then that is a clear favorite.
