A welterweight bout pitting Dong Hyun Kim and Gunnar Nelson has been set to serve as the main event of UFC Fight Night 99. The news was announced by the UFC on Thursday.
Kim (21-3-1) is currently on a two-fight winning streak that includes victories over Dominic Waters and Josh Burkman. Prior to that, the South Korean suffered a technical knockout loss to now welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. That loss snapped a four fight winning streak for the 'Stun Gun'. Kim currently sits at number 10 in the UFC welterweight rankings.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Nelson (15-2-1), is 2-2 in his past four trips to the octagon. The Brazilian jiujitsu black belt last fought at UFC Fight Night 87 where he bounced back from a decision loss to Demian Maia by defeating Albert Tumenov via second round submission (neck crank). The Icelandic fighter is currently ranked number 12 in the UFC's stacked welterweight division.
UFC Fight Night 99 is set to take place on Nov.19 at The SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. No other official bouts have been announced for the card.
