Tiffany Van Soest's highly anticipated pro MMA debut has been announced, and she's been given her first opponent.
Van Soest will be facing Kalyn Schwartz at Invicta FC 19 on Sept. 23.
Van Soest was the former Lion Fight Promotions featherweight champion before leaving the promotion amid controversy. She claimed that she had not been paid by the promotion, forcing her to put her belt up for sale in order to pay mounting bills. The promotion eventually stepped in and paid her, but the incident likely severed any remaining ties between them.
She has since signed with Glory and Invicta and will make her MMA debut with the latter.
Schwartz, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, is making her pro debut, but is undefeated as an amateur (6-0), according to a press release sent by invicta.
The fight will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
