Fresh off the heels of UFC 202, this Bellator 160 card was one of the more exciting events yet. In total, half of the ten fights were finishes in this fast-paced night of fights.

The Main Event

The first round between Benson Henderson and Patricio Freire was close and tentative, but Freire controlled the range and executed good counters. Unfortunately the fans were not liking to slow pace and spent most of the round booing the two phenomenal fighters.

The second round was more exciting and featured a great sequence against the cage. After taking Henderson down momentarily and getting his back, Henderson tried to reverse into a sick kimura. The two separated and Freire caught a kick from Henderson then starting throwing bombs; it looked to be Freire's round.

Unfortunately, Freire broke his shin at some point during the fight—most likely during Henderson checking a kick—and he stopped the fight himself right there in the second round.

After a spiritual, post-fight speech by Henderson, it was announced that he'd be fighting Michael Chandler for the Lightweight title Nov. 19th in San Jose at Bellator 163.
