Eight years ago, a 13-year-old boy took a photo with Michael Phelps. Little did the Olympic swimmer know, that young child he was posing with would eventually break his record and win a gold medal.

Joseph Schooling just became the first ever Olympic Gold medalist for Singapore, and broke Michael Phelps world record in the process. Schooling competed in the men's 100 butterfly, and grabbed gold with a time of 50.39 seconds, Phelps won silver in a three way tie.

Following the race, Phelps embraced the young Olympian, bringing it all full circle.
