The feud between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel is electrifying the sports and entertainment world again -- and this time there could be a payoff.

Can you say Wrestlemania on April 2, 2017?

After The Rock reportedly referred to Diesel as a "candy ass," rumors are circulating that the two Fast & Furious stars are actually angling for a big WWE showdown.

The alleged feud began on the set of Fast 8, which is currently in production. According to TMZ, "The Rock has butted heads with Vin during the production, in part because V.D. is a producer and has made decisions that didn’t sit well with the former wrestling champ."

Now however, some fans are speculating that this was all staged, and that the bad blood is actually just laying the foundations for an epic wrestling match.

It's definitely worth noting that Wrestlemania 33 will take place less than two weeks before Fast 8 hits theaters on April 17. The promotional value of seeing its two biggest stars throwing down in the ring would be insane.

Johnson made this ambiguous comment earlier this week via Instagram:

At the end of the day will these two clash at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando?

While we wait to see how this all plays out, the fans are having a lot of fun with the idea.
