UFC heavyweight Ben Rothwell is injured, and has been forced to drop out of his September match-up against Fabricio Werdum. The fight had previously been scheduled to take place at UFC 203.

UPDATE: Fabricio Werdum has a new opponent for UFC 203.

Steven Marrocco of MMAJunkie reports that Rothwell has suffered a knee injury in training, which may involve a torn meniscus and potentially even an ACL injury. The UFC is currently looking for a replacement to face Werdum.

Rothwell is currently ranked #5 in the UFC's heavyweight division, and most recently suffered a loss to Junior Dos Santos in April. Werdum is likewise looking to rebound off of a recent defeat, having lost the heavyweight title to current champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 198.

Miocic himself is scheduled to compete on the same card, defending his title for the first time against Alistair Overeem.

UFC 203 is scheduled to take place on September 10 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
