"Rowdy" Roddy Piper once famously said in a 1980s Piper's Pit segment, after destroying talent enhancer Frankie Williams, that "you don't throw rocks at a man with a machine gun."

It appears that Conor McGregor has never found that episode on You Tube. Because when he decided to unload on WWE wrestlers, insulting them by comparing them in a derogatory way to a part of the female anatomy, he may have thrown a few pebbles at several wrestlers carrying assault rifles.

McGregor called wrestlers "p*****s" and then said he would "slap the heads" off the entire roster. Yikes. There's one thing you never want to do in life: Getting into an argument with a professional wrestler. Most of them are great talkers, and in 2016, you just aren't going to get away with insulting the legitimacy of professional wrestlers.

The WWE has spent much of the last 48 hours on attack. The onslaught was led by the greatest professional wrestler of all time, Ric Flair.

LOL. It gets better.

But Flair was not alone in his indictment of the McGregor, the UFC Featherweight champion.

The New Day wasn't happy.

Roman Reigns doesn't believe the hype.

And clearly Chris Jericho thinks McGregor is "a stupid idiot."

Kurt Angle threw Dana White into the conversation.

McGregor's countryman even turned on McGregor.

And AJ Styles, possibly the best wrestler in the WWE today, sealed the deal.
