In many ways, Conor McGregor has mastered the art of the promo. He insults his opponents with ferocious humor, which leads to a big payoff for his PPV fights.

But The Notorious one may be slipping. That's because the art of the promo is to only insult those whom one will actually compete against. Unless you are building up to a fight, there's no need to go off the rails with some random verbal attack.

But that's what McGregor did, when he decided to insult Brock Lesnar and many professional wrestlers, during a UFC 202 pre-fight conference call. And then he backpedaled. Sort of.

Here's what McGregor, who is supposed to be promoting his fight at UFC 202 against Nate Diaz, said about professional wrestlers.

"For the most part, those WWE guys are (expletive). To be honest, they're messed up (expletive) if you ask me. Fair play to Brock, he got in a fight but at the end of the day he's juiced up to the (expletive) eyeballs so how can I respect that?"

Let's hope McGregor never runs into Brock Lesnar in a dark alley. For McGregor's sake. McGregor is 5' 9" and 170 pounds. Lesnar is 6' 3" and about 265 pounds. And he's a former NCAA Division 1 wrestling champion. Juiced up or not juiced up, that's not a fight McGregor wants.

He continued.

"The other guy (CM Punk) he hasn't fought yet so I don't know about him yet," McGregor said.

But then McGregor decided to inexplicably praise the McMahon family, Triple H and The Rock.

"There's some Dons in that wrestling game. The McMahons, they're Dons. Triple H is a Don. The Rock is a Don. But the rest of them are (expletive)."

McGregor clearly doesn't watch professional wrestling. Among the WWE fighters with amateur wrestling or professional MMA experience are Alberto Del Rio, Shinsuke Nakamura, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, who wrestle as American Alpha, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and AJ Styles. And a lot of WWE wrestlers are tough athletes, regardless of what McGregor thinks.

Ronda Rousey knows what's up. Her name "Rowdy" came from icon "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Rousey is a regular viewer of the WWE. She appeared at Wrestlemania 31, appearing in a segment with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and The Rock, and has said that she would love to return to the WWE at some point.

She knows where the money is. McGregor might be thinking he's fighting a WWE wrestler at UFC 202.
