Former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will be facing Jake Shields for a charity grappling match in August.

MusclePharm has partnered with Fight To Win Promotions to produce "Submit Cancer" a grappling match featuring jiu-jitsu and MMA stars.

Shields is a well known grappling coming off a recent win at Submission Underground (SUG). Machida holds a black belt in jiu-jitsu but has only one submission win in the octagon.

Machida's most recent UFC bout was cancelled after he admitted to using a banned substance during an out-of-competition test. He claims he was not aware it was banned.

Shields a former Strikeforce and UFC fighter holds wins over Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley and Dan Henderson.

Only three matches have been announced so far:

  • Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida vs Eliot Marshall
  • Lyoto Machida vs Jake Shields
  • Neil Magny vs Ryan Drexler

The fights can be viewed live on flograppling.com on August 13.
