Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos has finally undergone surgery following his injury obtained during Bellator 158.

Santos told that he had a successful 7-hour surgery 11 days after fracturing his skull after being knocked out by a flying knee.

"I had surgery yesterday, and thank God everything went fine," Santos told MMA Fighting. "It lasted seven hours, and the hospital will give Bellator a full report later today. God guided the doctors in this surgery so everything went well."

Early times were scary for Santos and a GoFundMe account was started by his ex-wife in order to help with expenses relating to his recovery. The fund totaled more than $24,000 which Santos has said he would donate to a foundation in Brazil.

Santos has already voiced his desire to return to the cage.

"They didn’t tell me anything about timetable for recovery yet," he said. "I’ll be released from hospital today, and then they will tell me how long it will take. But it will be fast. I’ll be back soon."
