Kevin Ferguson Jr., the eldest son of Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Feguson will be making his pro MMA debut at Bellator 160 according to the Associated Press.
Kimbo passed away suddenly at the age of 42 shortly before he was set to fight at Bellator London.
"It was more of a shock to the world, put it like that," Ferguson told the AP. "It was still a very big tragedy, but I got through it. I'm still getting through it. I won't say I'm over it, but I'm working on it, I guess."
His son made his amateur MMA debut in March, stopping his opponent in just 83 seconds. He will be making his pro debut on the undercard for the same promotion his father fought for.
"I was always around the fight business and everything, so I saw it and I understood what was going on," Ferguson told the AP. "I just knew without a doubt that one day, this was what I wanted to do."
Bellator 160 takes place in Anaheim, CA on Aug. 26 and will be headlined by former UFC champion Benson Henderson and Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.
