Fedor Emelianenko might fight Tito Ortiz under the Bellator lights, according to a recently published report.

According to The News Hub, Bellator is looking to book the fight between the two MMA legends.

The rumor was first reported in the Russian outlet VK, but was translated by The News Hub.

"Not Official: Fedor Emelianenko vs Tito Ortiz
Many MMA fans worldwide are wondering who will be the next opponent of "The Last Emperor."
According to one MMA news insider close to the leadership of the promotion - who wished to remain anonymous - it is currently working on the organization of the fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Tito Ortiz.
The fight will be held in the heavyweight division, and will be held at a future Bellator event."

Emelianenko, 39, is coming off a controversial victory over Fabio Maldonado. Many observers believed that Maldonado won the fight. Ortiz, 41, last fought in September of 2015, when he lost to UFC light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary.

Emelianenko is widely considered to be the greatest heavyweight fighter of all-time, but he has lost several fights in the twilight of his career, including to big names such as Dan Henderson and Fabricio Werdum. Although he has won 5 five fights in a row, it has been against weaker competition and his victory over Maldonado was highly disputed. Ortiz has also faded toward the end of his career, but he remains a threat to many fighters in a three-round fight.

The two would undoubtedly draw huge TV ratings for Bellator, and offer fans a "dream fight," even if it is a decade too late.
