The trailer for the MMA documentary The Hurt Business has been released and it's powerful.

Every moment is packed with fighters, past and the present, from Georges St-Pierre, Ronda Rousey, Jon Jones, Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell. It's narrated by Kevin Costner.

The film seems to delve into the darker side of the sport, the injuries and the pain including the long-term physical and psychological effects. The story is told through the eyes and experiences of some of the sports most well known figures. The film will explore how the sport went from being shunned as barbaric to the popular, celebrity-creating entertainment operation it is today.

The documentary opens with “Have you ever felt bad about hurting anybody?” and then shows clips of fighters training, competing and even getting operated on.

The documentary is directed by sports documentarian Vlad Yudin and co-produced by Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 Oscar Winner Jim Czarnecki. The film is a followup to Generation Iron; a film which left an impact on the world of bodybuilding. The Hurt Business is looking to do the same in MMA. With Czarnecki's help and his experience with two of the most talked about documentaries this is set to put MMA in the spotlight.

The Hurt Business is set to be released at the end of September 2016.
