Will Brooks defeated Ross Pearson via decision at The Ultimate Fighter Finale on Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brooks came away with the unanimous decision victory over Pearson with judges scores of 29-28 in his UFC debut.

"It's been a long time coming, it's been a hell of ride," Brooks said in hi post fight interview.

Brooks edged out Pearson in round one with excellent strikes in the clinch and well timed knees. Brooks is a smart fighter and it showed. Pearson was able to land a few jabs and avoid the one takedown attempt.

In round two they spent much of the action trading strikes in the clinch, with Brooks getting the only takedown of the round.

The third round began with a groin strike to Brooks, but after a quick rest the action was back on. Pearson proved round three to be his best landing a barrage of strikes to Brooks against the cage. The duo traded knees until Brooks body slammed Pearson with a thud. Despite his great round Pearson was not able to out score Brooks.

Directly following the fight Brooks took the opportunity to call out his former foe Eddie Alvarez who was just crowned lightweight champion Thursday night.

Brooks vacated his lightweight title with Bellator in order to sign with the UFC, tonight was his debut.
