With just two days notice, Daniel Cormier has been given a new opponent. Anderson Silva has stepped in to fight at UFC 200
Combate.com initially reported Silva's inclusion on Thursday, and various outlets began to confirm the initial news.
The bout will be a three-round, non-title fight at 205 pounds, according to TMZ.com.
Cormier's previous opponent, Jon Jones, was removed from the bout late Wednesday night due to a potential USADA violation and the UFC scrambled to find the light heavyweight champion a new challenger.
"I want to apologize to Daniel Cormier," Jones sad when addressing the media today. "I know how much this fight meant to him."
Silva is coming off a loss to Michael Bisping at middleweight and gallbladder surgery.
UFC 200 takes place this Saturday in Las Vegas. The new main event will be Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes.
