After the Battle of the Bastards, you would think that many Game of Thrones characters would want to take it easy for a couple of months. However, one actor has decided to use this time to work on his hand-to-hand combat now that winter is finally coming.
Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos on the hit HBO show, recently trained with John Kavanagh at his gym. Kavanagh, who is known for his work with current Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor, has also trained other GoT stars such as The Mountain in the past.
Cunningham, who is 55, was seen on Kavanagh's Instagram working on some of his striking. One advantage that Cunningham might have is that his character, Ser Davos, is missing four of his fingertips on his right hand, so he can avoid any and all illegal eye pokes.
One thing's for sure, with King's Landing in flames, dragons approaching from the sea and White Walkers heading for the Wall, Cunningham will need to use all these newfound combat skills to defend Jon Snow and the rest of the North.
