Ever wonder where your favorite fighters got their start? Chances are it was one of these six feeder leagues.

Check out the list (in no particular order) below:

Ring of Combat

Ring of Combat is arguably the best promotion on the East Coast, and they are credited to discovering powerhouse former middleweight champion Chris Weidman. Promoter Lou Neglia claims no fewer than 58 of his fighters have gone on to fight in the UFC, including most recently Randy Brown.

Neglia recently spoke with Fighter's Only Magazine and said, "I have fighters from other countries that call me up that say they would fly in for free just to fight for Ring of Combat."

Notable Fighters: Edson Barboza, Paul Bradley, Josh Koscheck, Chris Weidman, Eddie Alvarez and Frankie Edgar.


BAMMA is the top UK MMA promotion and it's home to some of the top prospects throughout Europe. The promotion is relatively new having only debuted in June 2009, but has already made a big name for themselves.

Notable Fighters: Gunnar Nelson, Paul Daley, Tom Watson.

Resurrection Fighting Alliance

RFA started in 2011 in a small town in Nebraska. It's since blossomed into a multi-state promotion with a TV contract. They hosted Dana White for their last card in Costa Mesa where he signed multiple fighters on the spot.

Notable Fighters: Sergio Pettis, Alan Jouban, James Krause, Brandon Thatch, Khalil Rountree and Brian Ortega.

Titan FC

Titan FC was founded in 2005 and originally started in Kansas. They have since grown to hosting shows all over the United States and even internationally. Their fight cards are even streamed on UFC Fight Pass. In 2012 the promotion merged with RFA, although it has since re-emerged again on it's own.

Notable Fighters: Bobby Lashley, Alan Belcher, Bobby Voelker, Zak Cummings, L.C. Davis


Invicta is an all-female MMA promotion which hosted many of the UFC female athletes fighting currently. You might sometimes find women fighting for both the UFC and Invicta, most notably Cris Cyborg.

Notable Fighters: Cris Cyborg, Liz Carmouche, Jessica Penne, Leslie Smith, Carla Esparza, Sara McMann, Joanne Calderwood, Cat Zingano, Rose Namajunas and Claudia Gadelha.

Legacy Fighting Championship

Legacy Fighting Championship is a husband-wife promotion based in Houston, Texas and has been thriving since 2005.

Notable Fighters: Daniel Pineda, Anthony Njokuani, Paul Buentello, James McSweeney, Jay Hieron, Evangelista Santos, Tim Means, Thomas Almeida, Sage Northcutt and Holly Holm.
