UFC veteran Ryan Jimmo was killed Sunday in what has been reported to be a hit-and-run incident following an altercation in a parking lot.
According to CBC.ca, a 34-year-old man was struck by a dark-colored truck that fled the scene. That man, identified by various publications as UFC veteran Ryan Jimmo, was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
According to police, Jimmo was involved in an altercation in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada early Sunday morning outside of a lounge. The fighter approached occupants inside a vehicle, and when he decided to walk away police say the suspects' vehicle accelerated and struck him before leaving the scene, almost striking another vehicle.
UFC President Dana White shared a photo of Jimmo shortly after the news broke.
The MMA community expressed their condolences as well.
Authorities are looking for two caucasian men who witnesses say were in the vehicle.
Jimmo made his MMA debut in 2007 for Maximum Fighting Championship and went on a 16-fight winning streak, which led to his signing with the UFC. He had seven fights with the promotion, going 3-4 with his last fight being in 2015.
