Bellator has signed an impressive prospect, Joey Davis, to an exclusive multi-year contract.
The 21-year-old wrestler attended Notre Dame University, where he accumulated an undefeated 131-0 record and four consecutive NCAA Division II Championships.
No, that was not a typo. 131-0... INsane!
“Joining Bellator is my latest achievement to date, Davis said in a statement provided by Bellator. "I don’t remember what it’s like to lose, and I’m not planning on finding out any time soon.”
And to top that off Davis is the only Division II wrestler to ever win four national titles and go unbeaten. He was also named 2016 “Man of the Year” by Wrestling USA Magazine. He also won two state titles in high school, one in his junior year, the other his senior.
Davis trains with childhood best friend and Bellator fighter A.J. McKee at Antonio McKee’s Body Shop Gym in Long Beach, California.
No fight announcement has been made but he will compete in the welterweight division later this year.
