Boxing champion Muhammad Ali has been hospitalized this week due to a respiratory issue, according to ESPN who obtained a statement from his family.
"A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy," the statement reads.
The Associated Press is reporting that the condition is "more serious" than his previous hospital stays, according to an unnamed source.
The champion boxer, who is 74, has Parkinson's Disease and has been hospitalized numerous times in the last few years for infections and pneumonia.
Ali's last public appearance was in April where the three-time heavyweight champion appeared frail.
Just last month marked the 51st anniversary of when Ali famously knocked out Sonny Liston.
