Current UFC Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate is getting those jabs in early!
The feud between Tate and former champion (who Tate wasn't able to beat twice) Ronda Rousey has been brewing for some time. But now that Tate is the one with the belt things are getting juicy.
Tate was a recent guest on SiriusXM Rush Fight Club this week and unloaded on her former (and potential future) opponent.
"I think Ronda is somewhat emotionally unstable and I think that's been characteristic for a long time," Tate said.
Now ladies, let's play nice.
What Tate was referring to was a rumor that Rousey was rude to fellow UFC fighter Paige VanZant.
"I'm not knocking her as an athlete but emotionally she's just got some things that are a little bit strange and I think that that was one of them," she continued.
Tate has been vocal that Rousey has not been polite to her in the past, but this is a new perspective from Tate.
Tate and Rousey first met back in March 2012 when they were both in Strikeforce. The fight ended in a first-round armbar (what else, right?) with Rousey getting the W. They faced each other again, this time in the UFC when Rousey submitted Tate in the third round via... armbar (duh).
Tate currently holds the UFC belt, which she snagged from Holly Holm just a few months ago. She is set for her first title defense against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200. Rousey is currently making movies and toying with the idea of making babies.
