Glorious, sanctioned violence.
A marquee light heavyweight bout between No. 2-ranked Anthony Johnson and No. 3-ranked Glover Teixeira has been added to the upcoming UFC on FOX 20 card in Chicago.
The UFC made the announcement regarding the 205-pound scrap, which is set to stand as the co-main event in the city's United Center on July 23.
Johnson (21-5) hits people really hard. Like, super [expletive] hard and anyone on the receiving end of one of his punches is beyond tough if they don't end up unconscious from the impact. He's gone 5-1 since coming back to the UFC as a light heavyweight, losing only to current title holder Daniel Cormier.
Teixeira (25-4) is also a knockout machine, picking up 15 knockouts or TKOs in his 25 wins. In his most recent outing, Teixeira knocked former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans out cold in the first round.
UFC on FOX 20 is only beginning to take shape and includes match-ups between Holly Holm and Valentina Shevchenko, as well as Gilbert Melendez and Edson Barboza.
