Following the untimely passing of Jordan Parsons, Bellator has pegged Ray Wood as a replacement to face Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 on May 14.

Bellator officials confirmed the bout late Wednesday to

Wood (7-1) steps into the contest on short notice, but is fresh off a win at EFC 3 just last week. Of his seven wins, six have come within the distance and four have come by way of knockout or TKO.

Piccolotti (7-0) will look to maintain his undefeated record when he faces off with Wood. Also a finisher of fights, Piccolotti has earned a submission, knockout or TKO in five of his seven wins.

Piccolotti was originally scheduled to face Parsons on the card, but the latter fighter was the victim of a hit-and-run incident over the weekend. After days hospitalized in critical condition, Parsons passed away from his injuries. He was 25.

The Delary Police Department is currently looking for a 2012 or 2013 Range Rover suspected of having struck Parsons. Police ask anyone with information contact Officer Dan Cramer at (561) 243-7800.

Bellator 154 will take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and UFC veteran Phil Davis.
