Every so often in MMA, a fighter comes along who is able to capture the essence of martial arts. Through memorable performances that display skill and technique at their best, certain fighters carry that "it factor."

For ONE Championship’s Angela Lee, displays of such skill are at the core of her five-fight career.

A bright spot in Asia's MMA scene, Lee has finished all five of her opponents thus far. Add to the fact that all of those finishes have been by submission, and you can put together that she’s a phenomenal grappler fitting of the “world-class” label.

And all of that considering she hasn't even earned her black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu yet.

“I still train with the Gi and I am working towards earning my BJJ black belt,” she recently told

Being a black belt in jiu-jitsu generally gets you credibility as being a master in the grappling art. Lee hasn't achieved that just yet, but she’s still been able to reel off some impressive finishes, including an incredible twister against Natalie Gonzales Hills in November 2015.

The twister submission is one of the rarest submissions to execute in MMA, but, of course, Lee was able to apply it flawlessly.

Lee's next challenge will be on Friday at ONE Championship: Ascent To Power, in a title fight against Mei Yamaguchi (who has six submissions of her own in 24 career fights). The two women will be facing off for the right to be crowned ONE's first ever female champion.

Will the WMMA standout pull out another submission? Based on Lee's track record, it’s worth tuning into to see it live.

The event will be streamed online for $9.99 here.
