He's done it again. Despite the two restarts during the main event, Roman Reigns has triumphed and has retained his WWE World Heavyweight Champion title once more.
Reigns beat out AJ Styles in a huge victory at the show on Sunday in Chicago, in which both Shane and Stephanie McMahon made sure the win was decided by a pinfall or submission.
The entire event was riddled with intense action and a series of surprising curve-balls that made Reigns's victory a rather close call at times — especially when the match had to be re-started twice. Once because Reigns was counted out and the second time due to a low blow. Either way, scenes like this riled the crowds, making for a phenomenal spectacle:
Eventually, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson came out to help Styles and Usos, which turned the event into Reigns's favor. He finally hit the last spear to get the three-count. Following the match, Vince McMahon met with his son and daughter behind-the-scenes to debate when a rematch would occur.
The decision was to have Reigns and Styles meet again in the ring in three weeks at Extreme Rules.
