Ronda Rousey is still planning on returning to the UFC Octagon later this year, but in the meantime, she's working hard to further her career in Hollywood.
According to Deadline, the former UFC champion has signed a three-picture deal with Lifetime, as part of that network's effort to branch away from the brand of TV movies they've become known for. In addition to Ronda, Lifetime has also signed another athlete in Serena Williams.
Interestingly though, Ronda's deal isn't centered around acting (although it's possible she may star in one or more of the movies). Instead, she's been tasked with developing and producing movies, which seems like a big step forward for her career.
Lifetime is asking her to bring, "stories that reflect her passions about empowerment to the screen."
That being said, Ronda has definitely not forgotten about her passion for mixed martial arts.
She's currently coming off of a huge defeat at the hands of Holly Holm, her first loss in professional MMA. A rematch with Holly at the UFC's Madison Square Garden event later this year has been heavily rumored for several months now, and if true, will prove to be a defining moment in Ronda's MMA legacy.
