After Lyoto Machida admitted to using a banned substance, and was subsequently removed from his scheduled match-up with Dan Henderson, Rose Namajunas and Tecia Torres were moved up to the co-main event at UFC on FOX 19.

The two lived up to the added spotlight though, putting on a back-and-forth brawl for three rounds, with Namajunas ultimately taking the unanimous decision. The two fighters are now 1-1 against each other, with Torres edging out her opponent when they last met in Invicta, three years ago.

While Torres landed the larger volume of strikes in the bout, it was Namajunas takedown ability, as well as her active groundwork, that sealed her win. Namajunas has now won her past three in the UFC, and holds a 5-2 record overall.

Torres meanwhile was undefeated going into this bout, and has seen her record drop to 7-1.
