Yesterday on UFC on FOX 19, #7-ranked Rashad Evans faced the #4-ranked Glover Teixeira in the Light Heavyweight bout.
Despite some good footwork out of the gate, Evans quickly found himself caught up against the cage, a bad place to be when facing a power striker like Teixeira. Less than two minutes into the first round, Teixeira capitalized on this mistake, landing a big left that send Evans crashing to the canvas.
The 36-year-old Teixeira now advances his record to 25-4. He has finished 12 of his last 13 wins. Following the fight, he called out Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.
Evans meanwhile has just suffered the second KO defeat in his career, and is 2-3 since 2013. The former LHW champ is now 24-5-1.
