UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has released a message regarding the passing of Joao Carvalho, who died on Monday following a welterweight bout with Charlie Ward in Dublin.

Not only is McGregor a Dublin native, but he was also in attendance at the event to support Ward, who he trains with at SBG. Witnessing this has clearly impacted him heavily, and he gave his condolences to Carvalho's friends and family in this Facebook post:

As much as he likes to talk trash and wreak havoc in interviews and during press conference, I think the real Conor is the man who wrote the message above. This might be a violent sport, but you can always count on the MMA community to rally together and support one of their own when it counts.
