Derrick "The Black Beast" Lewis is well on his way to earning a spot on the heavyweight top 10 after today's performance, bringing down 22-fight UFC veteran Gabriel Gonzaga in the first round.

The UFC Fight Night 86 bout co-headlined the Croatian event. Lewis opened aggressively, bloodying Gonzaga early, before being taken to the ground. Gonzaga nearly finished the fight on the mat, but Lewis was able to work his way back to his feet.

Lewis then pushed the fight towards the Octagon fence, and with his opponent trapped, he exploded with a huge combination of heavy punches. One huge right hand later, and Gonzaga was out, giving Lewis his biggest career win to date.

Derrick Lewis is now 6-2 in the UFC (15-4 overall), with three wins in a row, all by KO/TKO.
