ONE Championship will be crowning its first ever women's champion at ONE: Ascent to Power on May 6th in Singapore.

Undefeated prospect Angela Lee (5-0) will take on veteran WMMA fighter Mei Yamaguchi (15-8) for the women's 115-pound title. Singapore's The New Paper first reported the news, and the fight was confirmed by promotion officials on Thursday.

Lee is currently 5-0 and is considered one of the top female prospects in MMA. Every one of her wins has come from a submission.

Lee's last fight was a second-round neck crank win over Rebecca Heintzman. The Hawiian native is only 19, but has been training martial arts her entire life. She currently fights out of Evolve MMA in Singapore.

Yamaguchi has won her last 3 fights in the WMMA organization DEEP Jewels and is their current 105-pound champ. The Japanese fighter's last victories came in May 2015, when she defeated Mina Kurobe and Satomi Takanori in the same night.

Yamaguchi has been a pro since 2007 and during her fight career, she has squared off against major female competition like Megumi Fujii, Seo Hee Ham, and Ayaka Hamasaki.

So far, no other fights have been announced for ONE: Ascent to Power, which will take place at the Singapore Indorr Stadium.
