Jon Jones is in the clear in the wake of his most recent traffic violation. In January, he was pulled over for going 75 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. He then failed to hand over his license, registration, and proof of insurance. He was officially cited only for the latter infractions and let off the hook for reckless driving.
According to TMZ, Jones appeared in court Wednesday morning, where he was able to prove that he was, in fact, a registered, licensed, and insured driver despite not having that paperwork on his person at the time of being pulled over earlier this year.
Not only did he provide the necessary documentation, but he made a $100 donation to the New Mexico Animal Humane Society as an act of good faith (could he have given more, though?). Now, he'll just have to stay out of trouble for 90 days.
Within that 90-day stretch is his fight with Daniel Cormier which falls on April 23rd at UFC 197 in Las Vegas. This 90-day period could help with his focus and training.
What do you think?
Will Jon 'Bones' Jones be able to defeat Daniel Cormier at UFC 197?
