Before Conor McGregor lost to Nate Diaz at UFC 196, everybody and their mama wanted to fight the man. Even after, the UFC featherweight champion is one of the most hated fighters (by fighters) and almost everyone wants to dethrone him... or in the case of non-featherweights, just give him another L.

So who will Conor fight next?

As of now, the most likely report that has been swirling around the rumor mill is a Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor rematch in a non-title welterweight bout. Here's what Ariel Helwani said earlier this week...

"And make no mistake about it, the reason that this fight is happening at 170-pounds is because, to be frank, Conor Mcgregor is a bit of a wild man. He wants, he is obsessed with the idea that he lost to Nate Diaz at 170-pounds. He feels like he should have won and he wants the same circumstances, same rules, same stipulations. He wants to do it again and he wants to prove that he is the better man.”

John Kavanagh spoke with Whoacast recently about McGregor’s next fight.

“I believe it is going to be announced this week. And, whoever it is there will be a group of fans that will go, ‘Oh I didn’t want to see that, I wanted to see this.’ You know, no matter who you pick, there are gonna be people happy and there are gonna be people unhappy. The truth is when it is all said and done, fast forward three or four years when he is wrapping up his career, everybody will have been met. All styles will have been beaten.”

Kavanagh simply says he does not care if anyone is upset when they reveal who the next opponent is. “He’ll eventually face everybody anyway.”
