Brazilian news outlet Combate reports that former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao (33-3 in MMA) will return to the Octagon May 29th as a featherweight, making his debut against Jeremy Stephens (24-12 in MMA).

After he put together an amazing win streak that spanned from 2005 to 2014, Barao lost 2 of 3 in his last three Octagon appearances. Both recent losses came via TKO to former champ T.J. Dillashaw. He did nab a win against Canadian Mitch Gagnon (by submission). Barao, who has always struggled to cut weight to 135 pounds (bantamweight) will now look to reemerge as a fighter at 145 pounds (featherweight).

Jeremy Stephens has also been in a slump of sorts. The hard-hitting featherweight has suffered losses in three of his last four fights. Combate added that the Stephens vs. Barao fight will serve as the co-main event for the May 29 UFC Fight Night card. A location and venue hasn't yet been announced.

What do you think?

Who takes the featherweight bout between Jeremy Stephens and Renan Barao?
