Both Ken Shamrock and Kimbo Slice fail drug tests!

MMAFighting have reported that both Kimbo Slice and Ken Shamrock have allegedly failed drugs tests during their appearances at Bellator 149. The results of their pre-fight drug tests have allegedly shown that both Slice and Shamrock were found to have banned substances in their system.

Both fighters have been suspended by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) pending an adjudication process, with the name of the substances being withheld due to potential pending litigation.

The news will come as a blow to Bellator who have already came under fierce criticism for the card, even tho it was their highest rated show to date. Following his loss to Kimbo Slice, Dada 5000 was hospitalised and placed in intensive care as his body reacted to a high level of potassium in the blood due to a draining cut to make weight for the fight. Their bout has now had the decision overturned to a no contest, following Kimbo Slice's failed drug test.

Ken Shamrock was on the losing end in his bout with long time rival Roycie Grace. Much like their first fight, the match ended in controversy as Shamrock fell to the canvass following an alleged low blow by Grace. Shamrock was appealing the decision, but it seems that now will be thrown out.

It's a sad turn of events for the 52 year old. A MMA legend, UFC hall of famer and pioneer for the sport, Bellator 149 marked Shamrocks second fight for the promotion following his remergence from retirement last year. His first fight since 2010 was in June 2015, where he suffered a first round KO to Kimbo Slice.
