Nate Diaz grew up in a tough neighborhood in Stockton, California and like many great athletes before him, he used his sport to propel himself into a position that could get himself out of that situation.
He's moved on to bigger and better things. But without forgetting about where he came from and who he came up with. I respect it. Well, according to UFC president Dana White, after UFC 196, Nate Diaz is officially in the upper echelon of UFC fighters in terms of earnings... in fact, he's a millionaire.
I see you, Nate.
Take a look at the full video below:
While I reported recently that Nate Diaz made $500,000 at the fight, according to Dana White's implication in this video, there was much more to his pay than what was reported. I'm sure there were some performance incentives - particularly for winning the fight.
White said in a recent interview, “Listen. Anyone that knows the Diaz brothers, I will tell you this. Nate Diaz made a lot of money on Saturday night. He made a lot of money, he made millions of dollars so, we’ll see what happens. I might never see Nate Diaz ever again.”
Good to see both the Diaz brothers have made waves in the MMA world. I think both deserve it. I'm looking forward to seeing Nate compete for the welterweight belt... possibly at UFC 200?
What do you think?
Is Nate Diaz capable of getting the welterweight belt?
