The war of words has continued between light heavyweight UFC champion Daniel Cormier and his bitter rival, Jon Jones. The duo have been engaged in a war of words/memes online for quite a while now but Cormier decided to step up the trash talk when he appeared on a recent FOX Sports Live.
It's no secret that the two fighters can't stand each other. During his appearance on FS1, the Cormier took some brutal low blow shots at Jon Jones. The light heavyweight champ commented on Jon Jones' difficult past, referencing his hit-and-run incident and substance abuse issues.
I don’t hate him. I don’t wish bad on him. I don’t wish that he crashes into people. I don’t wish that he does all the stupid things that he does. I wish that his family didn’t have to go through all the things surrounding him, but for him, aside from all that other stuff?
I can’t stand the guy.
Cormier then went on to question the real reasons behind Jon Jones' move to New Mexico. 'Bones' had previously stated that he was going to New Mexico to 'grow up' following a series of incidents in his new hometown. However, Daniel Cormier held a different view on why Jones decided to make the switch...
I’m going to look at Jon and say, ‘Jon, you said you were moving to New Mexico to grow up. To me, it seems you went to the only place that will allow you to just be reckless and have no recourse for your actions.’
He didn’t go to grow up. He’s driving 75 in a 30. The guy’s using a damn passport as a driver’s license. It’s very clear, the difference. He told the cop he didn’t know he needed insurance to drive. This is crazy. He went where he could get away with all this stuff.
Last time I threw my shoe at him so instead of leaving it on and having to take it off to throw it at him again, I’m just going to place it on the desk. If he talks too crazy I’ll throw it at him. He just says some of the most ridiculous things. It’s just he’s so stupid.
Daniel Cormier also hit on the memes that each fighter has tweeted out, in this short but explosive interview. Check out the full video below via Fox Sports Live.
