Currently, Conor McGregor holds the UFC featherweight title. He planned to go after the lightweight crown on March 5, but after Rafael dos Anjos pulled out due to his broken foot, McGregor will compete in the welterweight division, a task that will require him to go up 25 pounds. He says:

"It doesn't matter what weight division or what belt is on the line because really I should create my own belt. I myself am my own belt. It doesn't matter if it's featherweight, lightweight, welterweight. It's the McGregor belt. So that's it. I'm fighting for my own belt."

It'll be interesting to see if this is a one-time deal for the self-proclaimed "Champion Of Everything," or if he'll take a run at Robbie Lawler's welterweight title. Patience isn't really the champ's strong suit, though. He waited a year to fight José Aldo for the featherweight title and now, with dos Anjos's withdrawal, McGregor is moving forward:

"It's hard to commit to dos Anjos again. The same with José. He pulled, and it took him two [times] to build up the courage. Hopefully, maybe, it would take dos Anjos two [times] to build up the courage. But when you pull out with an injury like that, a bruise on the foot, there's not much I can do to help you to bring you back into the mix."

No worries, McGregor's got a plan for himself — and the UFC:

"I'm going to create my own division. Who cares about weight? They all, they sign and they pull. It's happened time and time again in my weight class. I don't care about weight. It makes no difference to me. Wherever it's at, give me an opponent, and a date, and that's it."

Sounds simple enough. That is, of course, should McGregor get past dos Anjos's replacement Nate Diaz, who had a message for the champion of everything:

"Fuck you, fuck your belt. Fuck your bitch ass belt, too."

Simple. Needless to say, McGregor wasn't fazed:

"The only weight I care about is the weight of my checks. And they're super heavyweight."

Can't argue with the truth.
