Ronda Rousey is not happy with The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and its producers right now. They went ahead and photoshopped her body, specifically her arms, for a promo image and the former UFC bantamweight champion is none too pleased.
She actually posted the original Instagrammed image to her page without realizing that it was photoshopped, and later would post yet another - both of which you can find below.
First, the photoshopped promo image:
She detailed the people who helped her style herself:
All is good and well, this makes perfect sense. Ronda is giving props to the people who helped her put together her look for a late night talk show. Nothing too crazy here.
She did a double take and realized something... she would then leave the following note apologizing to her fans and assuring them that she didn't know that her body had been photoshopped.
Check out her message to her followers below:
"I have to make an apology to everyone - I was sent a picture to share on social for Fallon that was altered without me knowing to make my arms look smaller. I won't say by who - I know it was done with severely misplaced positive intentions - but this goes against everything I believe and I am extremely proud of every inch of my body. And I can assure you all it will never happen again. I could not be more appalled and hope you all forgive me"
Hollywood's image issue is seeping into the life of Ronda Rousey
Ronda is a fighter at heart, and a beautiful woman second. She surely has what it takes to make it in Hollywood and also to make it in fighting. But can she do both?
That's the question. There are harsh demands from both sides and I think when part of your fanbase needs you to be rail thin and work towards our strange Hollywood body image standard and the other part needs you to be a ferocious fighter, you are being pulled in two very different directions.
Ronda should choose the publicity and fame or a life of a fighter, because I don't think juggling the two is going to be easy. That being said, shame on The Tonight Show for making that change in their promo photo. It was embarrassing for Rousey, and she honestly seems to have been blindsided by it.
I guess we'll see if it ever happens again or if it affects Rousey's confidence as a gorgeous woman with a perfect body (in my humble opinion).
What do you think?
Is it pretty messed up that Ronda Rousey had to have her body altered on 'The Tonight Show' promo photo?
