These days, there is seemingly constant controversy and drama swirling around the UFC and those that the UFC believes are good representations of the promotion and those who aren't.
Most recently, Brendan Schaub feels his being banned from 'UFC Now' is due to the fact that he's not like the others - he doesn't give a shit about (in his words) falling in line.
“It’s come to my attention, ‘Big Brown,’ and these aren’t my words, is too controversial and doesn’t fall in line like the rest. I guess I’m unsupportive of certain issues that link up with the UFC. So you won’t see ‘Big Brown’ on ‘UFC Now’ anymore. I have (been banned).”
Although several fighters such as Kenny Florian, Daniel Cormier and Michael Bisping have rotated in and out of hosting duties on “UFC Now,” Schaub confirmed he’ll no longer be part of the rotation.
“I’m sorry. I’m supposed to pretend this Reebok deal is good for everyone? I can’t do it. I can’t (tow the company line). I can’t get in line. Yeah (I really got banned). … Listen, I’m just not that guy. In a line of horses, I am the zebra, and I’m not doing that, man. Thank god. Don’t get it twisted. There’s no show on UFC Fight Pass bigger than ‘The Fighter and The Kid.’ You can take your show and kick rocks.
I’m trying not to get emotional. For sure it hurts my feelings, but it’s going to help this show because the reason I always didn’t want to talk about fights in-depth too much on ‘Fighter and The Kid’ is because I did it for other shows all the time. Now I don’t have to do that. So I got that news and yeah. I just found out from my manager. I’m so bummed out because I had so much fun with the 90 viewers. I have my own show that’s way bigger.”
What do you think?
