BJ Penn has been training in Albuquerque, and it legitimately looks like the man might fight again. This would be incredible and iconic, but is he too old to do any kind of serious damage?
Legendary MMA coach Greg Jackson had this to say to MMAFighting about the prospect of Penn getting back in the Octagon with the JacksonWink team...
"I'm pleased with how the meeting went and very optimistic about the future. BJ doesn't have any specific fight plans, but we have [our own] plans."
BJ Penn posted the following Instagram post, with a simple caption "we coming !! @ufc @danawhiteufc", on Tuesday.
Penn (16-10-2) retired in July 2013 following a third loss to Frankie Edgar, but he said in October that he would consider fighting Nik Lentz. Since that time, Lentz has fired off some jabs at Penn, but it has never been confirmed that the two would square off.
At 37 years of age, the Hawaiian was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in July. He holds the distinction and honor of being one of two men to become UFC champion in two separate weight classes. The only other is Randy Couture.
