Recently, Floyd Mayweather kind of got on the proverbial soapbox and shouted that the world was racist because it didn't accept his antics but was okay with Conor McGregor's. He also threw Ronda Rousey into that mix as well, saying that because she and McGregor were white, they were excused for being somewhat arrogant.

Whether or not you think Floyd Mayweather has a point about the racism that might be responsible for people liking Conor McGregor and not him, you have to respect that McGregor wasn't happy about the comments. In fact, he denounced them publicly in a way that made perfect sense.

Conor McGregor is an Irishman. He knows prejudice.
Conor McGregor is an Irishman. He knows prejudice.

Here's what Floyd originally had to say in an interview with Fight Hype:

"They say he talks a lot of trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it, they say I'm cocky and arrogant. So biased. Like I said before, all I'm saying is this: I ain't racist at all, but I'm telling you racism still exists."

He added,

"Ronda Rousey, she's a good-looking woman when she put it on. Laila Ali is a drop-dead gorgeous woman; I mean a naturally beautiful woman and can kick ass, but you never heard [the media] saying when she had I think somewhere around 10, 11, 12 fights that she was the baddest woman to ever fight on the planet."

McGregor responded in this Facebook post, with the following image attached:

"Floyd Mayweather, don't ever bring race into my success again. I am an Irishman. My people have been oppressed our entire existence. And still very much are. I understand the feeling of prejudice. It is a feeling that is deep in my blood. In my family's long history of warfare there was a time where just having the name 'McGregor' was punishable by death. Do not ever put me in a bracket like this again."

Conor is also down to fight Floyd if it comes to it

He also challenged the man, with the following statement.

"If you want we can organise a fight no problem. I will give you a fair 80/20 split purse in my favour seen as your last fight bombed at every area of revenue. At 27 years of age, I now hold the key to this game. The game answers to me now."
