Ladies and gentleman, fans of the UFC, say hello to the newest women's bantamweight fighter, Valentina Shevchenko. She signed with the UFC earlier this year (the first new female bantamweight since 2014!), is of Russian descent, and has a specialty of kickboxing and is generally a bad-ass MMA fighter.
Here's her Wikipedia notes for reference:
But how is she in a fight?
If her 12-1 MMA record and 60-2 kickboxing record don't convince you, Just take a look at some of her matches so far:
She's "ready to fight with everyone"
Here she was after an upset victory she had over Sarah Kaufman at UFC on Fox 17.
She might not quite yet be ready to take on Holly Holm or Ronda Rousey or Miesha Tate or... the list goes on really. But she's going to make a splash and looks poised to become an oft-mentioned legitimate fighter in the weight division.
I'm sure you'll be hearing her name more and more in the near future.
