It's safe to say that along with multiple other UFC fights recently, Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit deserve "rematch" talk. The two duked it out a few nights ago at UFC 195 and provided us all with a tremendous fight. And in my opinion, if Jose Aldo gets a rematch with Conor McGregor, they most definitely need to let Condit try to avenge his loss.
In case you missed UFC President Dana White's breakdown of UFC 195 in an interview recapping things, here it is below.
Some people truly believe that Condit was "robbed", but that might be a gross overstatement. I recently reported on Condit saying he was considering retirement, to which White responded...
“But Carlos was saying in the back that he might retire. This might be the last fight for Carlos. We’ll see how this thing plays out. You can’t make these types of fights right after the (first) fight. Lawler said yes, and he’d like to do it. I’m sure Condit would like do it again if he doesn’t decide to retire. I respect both guys a lot. We’ll see how this thing plays out, and we’ll see what happens.”
But right now, like most of these potential rematches, nothing is set. It's too early.
“You’ve got to understand that those two were just in war,” White said. “They were in a war, a five-round absolute war. Let’s see how they feel in a couple days.”
