What an eventful year in the world of female mixed martial arts. Ronda Rousey's epic defeat by Holly Holm will go down as a pivotal moment in the sport. I'm sure of it.

While Ronda Rousey lays low and recovers both her physical health as well as her public profile, our eyes are fixed on the new queen on the block, victor of the formally unstoppable Ronda, Holly Holm.

Holly is a smart lady who knows how to keep us engaged and eager to find out what she plans to do next.

And what she plans to do is something that Ronda Rousey previously refused -- take on the almighty, undefeated for an entire decade, Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino.

When speaking during the UFC 194 media scrum, Holly mentioned that she was willing to go up a weight class to take on the undefeated Cyborg.

The reason why Ronda never agreed to do this was because of Cris's previous history of performance-enhancing drug use. Cyborg was found to be taking anabolic steroids back in 2011, even though she has remained clean recently.

Getting back to Holm, the mixed martial artist said:

"I know with the UFC, they don't have this division. So if that was something that they were going to put together, I'm not against it. I'm open to it"

Cris Cyborg really is a master act, not having lost a match in a decade. There was talk that she was going to drop a weight class so that she could have a face off with Ronda Rousey, but now new victor Holm is prepared to go up a weight class, Cyborg is going to continue doing what she is doing.

Prepare for the biggest fight of your lives.
