Fedor Emelianenko recently went the record with Russian sports outlet Championat to say that he felt the contracts that the UFC offered its fighters were pretty one-sided. He explains why he chose to opt out of signing once he found out that he wasn't going to be given what he believed was a fair deal.

His words:

"I'm not ready to fight under the contract conditions that was offered by the UFC on the terms that they decided. Contract was just draconian and oppressive. I'm not ready to sign such an enslaving contract. First of all, they should show respect for the fighters -- the kind of respect I receive in Japan"

The 39-year-old is currently in Russia following a month-long stay in the Netherlands for a specialized training camp.
